NYS Alumni National Executive Council urges members to uphold peace and patriotism amid protests
In response to the ongoing protests across the country, the National Executive Council of the National Youth Service Alumni Association (NYSAA) has issued a formal statement urging all alumni to remain calm, patriotic, and law-abiding. The message, released through the Office of the Chairperson, reminded members that Kenya remains our only homeland—a nation we must protect not only today but for future generations.
The Council emphasized that NYS alumni must refrain—both individually and collectively—from engaging in actions that may compromise the values, training, and legacy of the National Youth Service. Members were called upon to stay true to the principles instilled during their service, particularly discipline, patriotism, and respect for the Constitution. The statement encouraged alumni to act as agents of peace and to avoid any conduct that could harm the image of the NYS fraternity or destabilize the nation.
Additionally, the Council extended heartfelt wishes of safety and unity to all alumni, urging the fraternity to stand together in support and solidarity. “Let us be each other’s keepers, as we have always been. Our strength lies in our unity,” the statement read.
The message concluded with a blessing to all members and the country at large, underscoring the need for continued vigilance, peace, and national cohesion. Members are encouraged to stay updated by visiting the NYS Alumni Association’s News & Updates page regularly.
God bless NYS. God bless Kenya.
